About Us

The Missouri City Police Officers Association is a non profit organization dedicated to supporting those who serve the Citizens of Missouri City, Texas.

Formed in 1992 with the goal of providing support to the members of the Missouri City Police Department. The MCPOA continues to strive to meet this goal and is dedicated to seeing the best for our members.

Our History

The Missouri City Police Officers Association has a rich history being formed in 1992 and as legend has it formed in the "basement" of the Well's Fargo Bank Building on Texas Parkway. Well, there are officially no "basements" in the Bank Building, but the original members did meet in an office in the building to draft the original Articles of Formation and By-Laws.

The first President of the Association was Gerald Broussard, who would go on to retire from the Missouri City Police Department after serving more than 35 dedicated years. Many of the original members would go on to serve as commanders at the Department, including Assistant Chief, Larry Capps (Retired), Assistant Chief, Lance Bothell, Captain John Bailey (Retired), Captain Paul Poulton, and our Current Chief of Police, Michael A. Berezin.

The MCPOA has always enjoyed strong community support, and have numerous members of the community that volunteer their time each year to make our only fundraising event, The PIGS Golf Tournament, a success. The golf tournament has assisted countless members, organizations, students and community programs over the years.

The MCPOA and the Missouri City Professional Firefighters voted in 2018 to seek Texas Civil Service and is presently on the ballot for the November 2020 ballot for the voters to decide. This has been a goal of the Association since the creation in 1992.
